French Tuesdays presents an all-day party, replete with can-can dancers and a DJ, at the Riviera 31 lounge of the Sofitel, on Sunday. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be games and aperitifs. Afterward, entertainment, music, and partying will feature until midnight. The dress code is casual chic and guests are encouraged to sport red, white, and blue clothing. The Los Angeles Petanque Club announces an open Bastille Day P’tit Panache Doublette and Brunch. Games begin at 1 p.m. and a brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Prizes for winners are bottles of wine.
The cost is $5 per player (or their brunch-only guest) or bring a side dish/dessert to share.
Non-members welcome. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The 25th Annual Santa Barbara French Festival

The 25th Annual Santa Barbara French Festival takes place on both Saturday and Sunday. Oak Park will play host to the festival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Performances will take place across three stages, in addition to fifty booths, featuring food and arts and craft, among other entertainment. The famed Poodle Parade will proudly run. The San Diego French American Chamber of Commerce and the French-American School have organized a barbecue at the French-American School at noon. There will, however, be pétanque that will start before the barbecue, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the barbecue, Sister Speak, a folk/rock band, will perform. On Bastille Day itself, the Alliance Française of Albuquerque will commemorate their fiftieth anniversary, along with the honorary French consul for New Mexico, Mr. Perry Bendicksen III and the Alliance chapter president, Dr. Claude-Marie Senninger. In addition to music and tombola, the luncheon will feature speaker Mr. Edward Lewis, a magazine publisher who founded Essence and Latina. The luncheon will take place at the Hotel Marriott Pyramid and start at 11:30 a.m. Alliance chapter members pay $28, while non-members pay $33.
