Mr. François Delattre, Ambassador of France to the United States, will be in Los Angeles on November 28th and 29th, 2012.
This trip will focus on economic diplomacy and the international standing of French culture.
On November 28th, Ambassador Delattre will open the exhibition "Lost in LA", the first important event of the Art Season of French contemporary art in Los Angeles: "Ceci n’est pas...Art between France and Los Angeles".
On the morning of November 29th, the Ambassador will visit UCLA to meet with university administrators as well as French and American researchers working in stem cell research.
He will exchange with them on therapeutic applications of their research and existing partnerships with France.
He will then be hosted by the Editorial Board of the Los Angeles Times and will tackle current international questions as well as the French–American relationship.
During the afternoon, after a visit to the City Hall and discussions with several City Council members, he will meet with Mr. Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group, and engage in a conversation about current challenges met by the entertainment industry.
Then, at the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles, he will hold a meeting with French Foreign Trade Advisors. He will survey their various business sectors, and will focus on ways to support and reinforce French businesses in Southern California.
This trip will conclude by a meeting with representatives of the French community and eminent people of the Los Angeles community.
