Mr Howard A. Rodman receives the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters honor

Mr Howard A. Rodman, Writers Guild of America West Vice President, received the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters honor on October 31, 2013.

Mr Antonin Baudry, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the United States, awarded Mr Howard A. Rodman during a reception at the Residence of the Consul General of France in Los Angeles, Mr Axel Cruau.

Mr Howard A. Rodman received this honor in recognition of his contributions to the Septième art (cinema). Over the course of his diverse career, Mr Rodman has been a novelist, a screenwriter and a professor.

In 2008, Mr Rodman received a Spirit Award normination for Best Sreenplay for the movie Savage Grace with Julianne Moore. Mr Rodman also penned the feature Joe Gould’s Secret which opened the 2000 Sundance Film Festival.

A longtime advocate for independant films, Mr Rodman founded and chairs the WGAW’s Independant Film Writers Committee.
