A delegation from the French Parliament Group for Space (Groupe des Parlementaires pour l’Espace - GPE) visited Los Angeles from July 15-18, 2015, in order to meet with multiple stakeholders in the space industry such as SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, the Mojave Air and Space Port and Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems.
The delegation was composed of Mr. Alain Gournac, Senator of Yvelines and first vice-president of the GPE, Ms. Geneviève Fioraso, Deputy of the first district of Isère and former minister for Higher Education and Research, and Ms. Delphine Gillaizeau-David, general secretary of the GPE. Mr. Philippe Hazane, CNES space attaché at the Embassy of France in Washington DC, also accompanied them.
During their visit to the United States, the delegation also went to Washington DC and Florida to meet with other influent people in the space field.
Visits of the delegation in Los Angeles were organized in partnership with the Office for Science and Technology at the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles, with the help of Mr. Fabien Agenès, scientific attaché. Mr. Christophe Lemoine, Consul General in Los Angeles, and Mr. Fabrice Maïolino, Deputy Consul General, also had the pleasure to accompany them at the visit of Virgin Galactic and the Mojave Air and Space Port.
