The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries in Los Angeles is part of the cultural services of the French Embassy, which is established in ten key cities across the country: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco and Washington, DC. Under the authority of the New York-based Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy, the Office is located at the French Consulate in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles area concentrates major players in the cultural and creative industries. Not only is Los Angeles the world capital of the film and audiovisual industries, but it is also a hub for the musical industry, contemporary art, video games, design, and fashion.
The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries aims to promote and improve French-American exchanges in all these fields, as well as in the fields of higher education and language. Its activities cover the whole American Southwest, i.e. Southern California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Southern Nevada.
The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries in Los Angeles actively promotes French films screenings in the area through collaborations with numerous local partners such as festivals, movie theaters, or universities.
The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries in Los Angeles also supports the film and audiovisual industries, by instigating or supporting events between French and American professionals (Colcoa, AFM, AFI FEST).
Furthermore, the office is committed to promoting France as a shooting location, through its tax credit system and the wealth of its infrastructures..
The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries is also actively involved in the fields of:

- visual arts
It guides and supports individuals and professionals (such as artists, writers, directors, teachers and researchers) as well as institutions – art centers, professional networks, schools and universities. The office sets up numerous programs and projects across the region with these various partners.
The office implements French-American programs in music, the contemporary and performing arts and academic research in collaboration with the FACE foundation (French American Cultural Exchange, www.facecouncil.org).
The Office for Cultural Affairs and the Creative Industries is dedicated to promoting the French language in American schools and universities by offering free teacher training workshops, scholarships, and a number of digital tools. In addition, it works with local educational institutions to develop bilingual education. It actively supports French-American research in the Social Sciences and Humanities through symposiums, research centers,student mobility and double diplomas between French and American universities.
